Cruise-pier 2018!

A cruise-pier is a prerequisite for the large cruise ships to be able to call into Visby Harbour.

The new pier will be located south of Visby harbour.

Two ships of 340 meters LOA will able to dock at the same time. The actual pier is 150 meters long and is reached via a 140 meter long bridge from a broader land policy, with space for parking of buses, taxis, bicycles and tourist train. A cruise-ship terminal with convenience facilities for passengers and crew are also placed here.

The total length of the new quay, including abutment, will be 530 meters.

Ships under 140 meters will continue to be offered a place in the inner harbor.

Season 2015

This season is about to end,

Season started AIDA CARA in May was cancelled due to bad weather. Weather improved a little bit in June and after some heavy raining in the beginning of July, finally “the summer” was here.

This season our average cruise-passengers guest has been Finish and German. And we have also arrange shore excursions for Englishmen, Australians and Americans.

Bus-tour groups visit us from Finland, Norway and Sweden, groups for which we arranged various tour-package’s.

 

Expanding Phase

From 1st September 2014 both Gotland Excursion and Carl E. Ekman are owned subsidiaries of Gotlands Stuveri AB.

Gotland Excursion are now in an expanding phase for the “future”. We are about to renew and change our organization! Our colleague Mr. Torgny Andersson will retire in October after been in the “shore-excursion business” since 1972!!! We wish him a wonderful and relaxing retirement.

Susanne will be the one in charge of the sales and shore-excursions, coordinating together with Frida Nehro as an assistant and our CEO Thomas Nyberg stays as the market-manager.

We are looking forward to the opening of the cruise-ship pier in 2018!!
